About the Role
We are looking for a Junior Estimator to join our dynamic and busy team in Christchurch. This role is ideal for someone with 1-2 years of experience in commercial estimation or pricing, seeking to broaden their skills within a Tier 3-4 contractor or subcontractor background. You will work closely with the Estimating Manager, providing essential support to the team on tenders and cost analysis.
Key responsibilities include:
- Tender Management: Assist in initiating subcontractor relations, supporting tender presentations, and managing resources for tender opportunities.
- Cost Analysis: Carry out cost studies and research, including pricing for main contractors’ work and Preliminary and General items.
- Project Quantification: Quantify projects, review alternative construction methods, and develop project programs in collaboration with managers.
- Post-Tender Activities: Respond to tender clarifications, negotiate with subcontractors, and prepare final summaries for successful tenders.
- Market Awareness: Maintain awareness of market trends and communicate updates to decision-makers, providing regular reports to the leadership team.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience in commercial estimation or pricing.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Skills: Proficiency in cost analysis, tender management, and project quantification.
- Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to contribute to a collaborative team environment.
- Eligibility: NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
