Job Description/Overview
We are seeking a Catering Unit Manager to run the catering operation at Sopley Primary School, Christchurch. This is a fantastic opportunity to manage a busy kitchen, providing fresh, nutritious meals to students. You will work in a lone position, overseeing the kitchen’s day-to-day operations, managing food preparation, and ensuring high-quality standards while serving the students.
This role offers a term-time only contract, allowing for a great work-life balance with the hours of Monday to Friday during school hours.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the kitchen and catering operations, ensuring high-quality food service.
Supervise, train, and motivate the catering team.
Prepare meals using fresh ingredients and adhere to food safety and hygiene standards.
Set up and clear tables and chairs for each lunch service.
Maintain kitchen inventory and manage food costs.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a similar catering environment is essential.
Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
Experience
Proven experience in a catering management role, ideally in an educational setting.
Experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Salary and Benefits
Hourly Rate: £12.75 – £13.18 per hour.
Contract Type: Permanent (Term-time only).
