Job Description/Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic Catering Unit Manager to oversee a busy on-site catering operation at Uplands Primary School. This is a fantastic opportunity to manage your own catering team, providing fresh and nutritious meals to students. You will be responsible for leading the kitchen staff, ensuring high-quality food standards, and maintaining an efficient and well-organized operation.
You will work Monday to Friday during school hours, providing a healthy work-life balance with a term-time only contract.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the kitchen and catering team to deliver fresh, nutritious meals.
Ensure all food preparation and service meets high quality and hygiene standards.
Supervise, motivate, and train the catering team.
Maintain stock levels and manage inventory.
Monitor and manage food costs and waste.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a similar catering environment is essential.
Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Excellent communication skills and a passion for food and customer service.
Experience
Experience managing a catering team.
Experience working in a busy kitchen environment, preferably within an educational setting.
Salary and Benefits
Hourly Rate: £12.75 – £13.18 per hour.
Contract Type: Temporary (6-month maternity cover).
