We are looking for a Freelance Post-Production Captioner to join our Operations team. This position is fully remote, offering flexible work hours. If you are passionate about accuracy and accessibility, this role could be a perfect fit for you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Create high-quality captions for a variety of programs using approved captioning software.
- Synchronize captions with audio and video changes to ensure precise timing.
- Position captions on screen to reflect speaker changes while avoiding overlays with graphics, logos, or copyrights.
- Conduct research as necessary to ensure captions are accurate and contextually correct.
- Independently audit content to correct inaccuracies and meet deadlines.
- Follow VITAC style guides and procedures to maintain company standards.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of offline captioning experience.
- Access to professional captioning software.
- Strong understanding of English grammar, punctuation, and language conventions.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Must successfully pass VITAC proficiency tests.
Compensation:
- $1.20 per program minute.
