Job Description/Overview
The Director of Maintenance & Facilities will oversee the daily operations of the facilities management department, ensuring efficient management of all resort and complex facilities. This leadership role involves implementing preventative maintenance programs, managing contractors, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and supervising capital improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily operations of the facilities department.
Develop and execute preventative maintenance programs for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Negotiate and maintain contracts with contractors and service providers.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Monitor and maintain landscaping, public areas, and recreational facilities.
Review and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
Ensure facilities meet building codes and regulations.
Oversee capital improvement projects, including construction and renovations.
Collaborate with construction teams to align projects with operational needs.
Identify and address construction-related issues to ensure quality and avoid delays.
Prepare and manage the facilities budget.
Lead, train, and develop the facilities team.
Handle facility-related emergencies to minimize downtime.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 8-10 years of facilities management experience, including 5 years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations.
Proven experience managing large-scale properties like resorts or commercial complexes.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, CMMS, and MS Project.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
Proficiency in English; Arabic language skills are desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in Facilities Management (CFM) or Construction Management.
Experience with property management and project management tools.
