Job Description/Overview:
The Muiriosa Foundation seeks motivated and enthusiastic Social Care Workers to join our Kildare Residential Services team. The role involves supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities to live meaningful, community-integrated lives. This includes promoting personal development, fostering authentic relationships, and facilitating valued social roles for the individuals we support.
We welcome candidates passionate about helping individuals lead fulfilling lives, who are skilled in person-centered planning, and have experience with supporting individuals with communication needs and behaviors of concern.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate person-centered support to individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Promote community integration and develop authentic relationships.
Lead initiatives to help individuals achieve their personal goals and aspirations.
Provide new experiences to individuals, fostering their independence.
Ensure adherence to safeguarding and HIQA standards.
Work independently in residents’ homes and various locations.
Be available for day, weekend, and overnight shifts, including sleepovers.
Qualifications:
Diploma in Social Care / Applied Social Studies in Social Care (Level 7).
CORU registration or commencement of registration process.
Knowledge of HIQA standards, safeguarding, and protection of vulnerable adults.
Experience:
Prior experience supporting adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism.
Experience working with individuals with behaviors of concern.
Familiarity with person-centered planning and individual support approaches.
Skills:
Strong communication and organizational skills.
IT proficiency is an advantage.
Full, manual driving license required.
Community connections and an interest in promoting healthy lifestyles are desirable.
