Job Description/Overview:
Avista is a progressive organisation providing a wide range of services, including Day, Residential, and Respite supports to both children and adults across various locations in 3 regions. They are looking for Social Care Workers to support people with intellectual disabilities and their families in a person-centred, community-based, and socially inclusive manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide person-centred care and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Assist people in developing skills and competencies around identified areas of interest and learning.
Adopt a holistic approach to support people in living their best lives in accordance with New Directions.
Ensure services are delivered in a socially inclusive manner, aligning with the organisation’s core values and ethos.
Qualifications:
QQI Level 7 (or higher) qualification in Social Care/Applied Social Studies or equivalent.
Qualification must be eligible for CORU registration.
Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and behaviours of concern is essential.
Experience:
Prior experience in the area of intellectual disabilities is required, particularly with individuals exhibiting behaviours of concern.
Skills:
A person-centred approach to care.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively within a team.

Salary: €38,951 – €54,989 per annum (dependent on relevant public sector experience).
