Job Description/Overview:
JBS Australia is seeking a passionate Continuous Improvement Coordinator to join the management team at our Scone plant, located two hours northwest of Newcastle. Reporting to the Plant Manager and working with the Head of Innovation and Industrial Engineer, this role is essential in advancing site-level innovations, industrial engineering, and a continuous improvement culture. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in plant operations and management, paired with leadership skills to drive a culture of safety, high performance, and team development. The role requires implementing efficient, collaborative, and timely solutions across various operational functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Investigate and implement innovative practices and technologies.
Develop and introduce advanced systems and solutions from global sources.
Support the site engineering and maintenance team, including trades professionals, a maintenance supervisor, and a planner.
Collaborate with the site leadership team to align on plant priorities, ensuring they are achieved through continuous improvement and innovation.
Manage budgeting and cost control for individual projects.
Foster a lean mindset among team members across all areas.
Attend Business Unit meetings to identify improvement opportunities.
Conduct comprehensive analyses and clearly communicate results while engaging the team.
Create business proposals and cost justifications for industrial engineering and innovation projects.
About You:
Hands-on leadership with a collaborative approach.
Experience in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment (preferred).
Strong communication and motivational skills to support continuous improvement.
Proficient in problem-solving tools, including PDCA, ‘5 Whys,’ and KPI analysis.
Excellent investigative and root cause analysis skills.
Strong project management capabilities.
Knowledge of WH&S practices and the ability to lead safety initiatives in a team environment.
