Job Description/Overview:
The Carrier Sales Representative at WWEX Group develops and manages carrier portfolios to drive revenue growth. This role involves combining sales, account management, supply chain planning, and operational activities to meet customer shipping needs. It focuses on maintaining strong carrier relationships, offering exceptional service, and negotiating rates.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain knowledge of changing market conditions.
Establish and grow relationships with carriers to increase capacity.
Develop positive relationships with trucking company contacts.
Identify issues and work with internal and external teams to implement solutions.
Negotiate rates to maximize profits and provide safe, reliable carriers.
Match and book available equipment with freight opportunities.
Maintain contact with carriers to secure capacity and manage agreements.
Follow customer SOPs for booking and dispatching.
Use logistics technology to inform decisions and improve efficiency.
Ensure accuracy of shipment records, including destination, weight, and charges.
Qualifications:
High School diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
0-2 years of sales or logistics/supply chain experience.
Experience:
Experience in sales or logistics/supply-chain preferred, but entry-level candidates are welcome.
Skills:
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to persuade, motivate, influence, and negotiate.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Familiarity with freight and shipping industry terminology is a plus.
Flexibility to work afterhours, weekends, or holidays as needed.
