Job Description:
Fondazzjoni Sebħ seeks a qualified Social Worker to join their Community Prevention Team, offering evidence-based support to children and families. The primary aim is to promote positive, safe relationships within families, focusing on preventive measures for well-being and safeguarding. The Social Worker will work collaboratively with various services and community stakeholders to meet family needs effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Service Provision:
Provide outreach to families at risk of abuse or social exclusion, perform assessments, and develop care plans with a strengths-based approach. Implement these plans with input from other team members, conduct home visits, and participate in meetings, case reviews, and school conferences.
Work closely with community partners to strengthen support networks for vulnerable families.
Prevention Team Collaboration:
Maintain productive relationships with team members, management, volunteers, and students. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and support groups. Engage in community-building efforts and attend self-development programs as part of the role’s professional expectations.
Policy and Practice:
Keep records of interventions confidentially, provide necessary reports to the Team Manager, and represent Fondazzjoni Sebħ in external forums when needed. Assist in policy review and maintain compliance with organizational and legislative standards.
Minimum Requirements:
Qualifications:
Qualified social worker (warranted or in the process of obtaining a warrant). Final-year social work students may also apply for future employment consideration.
Experience:
Previous experience working with children and families in a social work, care, or volunteer capacity is beneficial.
Personal Qualities:
Strong communication skills, resourcefulness, a victim-centered approach, and solid organizational abilities. The ideal candidate should be assertive, empathetic, and committed to Fondazzjoni Sebħ’s values.
