Position: Care Worker – Children’s Services (Casual Shift Basis)

Job Description:
Fondazzjoni Sebħ is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Worker to join their Children’s Homes division. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care, supervision, and nurturing for children residing in the home, working closely with the Home Manager and other team members to maintain a safe, supportive, and loving environment.
Division: Children’s Homes
Role Profile: The Care Worker will be responsible for caring for children in the residence, supporting their emotional and physical needs, and following all policies and procedures to ensure their safety and well-being. This role requires flexibility, as shifts may include Day, Afternoon, and Night shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
General Child Care:
Ensure children are well-cared for at all times, emphasizing emotional warmth, hygiene, and stability.
Organize fun, age-appropriate activities inside and outside the home.
Prepare and serve nutritious meals and refreshments.
Support each child’s educational development and provide a nurturing home environment.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate daily records for each child.
Report any concerns of abuse or maltreatment.
Adhere to the home’s rules and assist with housekeeping, such as laundry, cleaning, and meal preparation.
Accompany children to school, medical appointments, and outings, as needed.
Attend supervision sessions and further professional development.
Team Skills and Attributes:
Foster a positive outlook and act as a role model for children.
Exhibit effective teamwork and communication skills.
Demonstrate patience, objectivity, and empathy, particularly under pressure.
Qualifications:
A qualification in Care Work is essential. A qualification in the Social field is preferable. Students working towards such qualifications are also welcome to apply.
Experience: Previous experience working with children in a care worker or volunteer capacity is desirable.
Additional Requirements: Clean manual driving license.
