Job Description/Overview:
EssentialCare is seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Assistants to join our senior care team. This role involves supporting individuals in need, including seniors, by assisting with daily activities, managing behaviors, and providing specialized dementia care. The position is focused on enhancing clients’ well-being and independence through quality caregiving.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, and mobility
Implement behavior management techniques as needed
Perform safe lifting and transferring of clients
Provide support with home and community activities to improve quality of life
Specialize in dementia care with empathy and understanding
Administer first aid and respond to emergencies
Drive clients to appointments, errands, and outings
Support activities of daily living to promote client independence
Monitor vital signs and report concerns to healthcare professionals
Handle physical lifting and other caregiving responsibilities as required
Qualifications:
Experience in caregiving or a related field (preferred)
Knowledge of behavior management and dementia care principles
Proficiency in safe lifting and transferring techniques
Certification in first aid (required)
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Ability to monitor vital signs and respond to changes
Physical capability for heavy lifting tasks involved in the role
Experience:
Prior caregiving experience preferred but not mandatory
Skills:
Empathy, attentiveness, and strong interpersonal skills
Ability to follow caregiving practices and safety protocols
Effective behavior management and first-aid administration skills

Additional Information:
Job Type: Full-time
Pay Range: $19.87 – $20.82 per hour
Expected Hours: 20 hours per week
Benefits: Flexible schedule, paid time off, referral program
Schedule: Night shifts, weekends only
