Job Description/Overview:
Join the Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust as a Healthcare Assistant, supporting patients at Hawkhurst Hospital or the new ward at Westview in Tenterden. This role is essential for helping patients become independent before returning home, often after being unwell or following an acute hospital stay. You’ll work as part of a multidisciplinary team, participating in daily rounds, safety huddles, and EPMA for medication administration. Comprehensive training will be provided in areas such as rehabilitation, IV administration, wound care, and end-of-life care.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide essential in-patient care and support patients in their recovery process.
Work collaboratively with a team to monitor care quality and give feedback to managers.
Implement care plans, ensuring a positive patient experience and promoting independence.
Participate in daily board rounds and safety meetings.
Qualifications:
Relevant Level 2 qualification (NVQ/QCF in care or equivalent).
Functional Skills Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy (GCSE grade A-C in English and Maths or equivalent).
Experience:
Previous experience in a healthcare or social care setting.
Teamwork skills; community healthcare experience is a plus.
Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt to change and use own initiative.
Moderate IT skills.
