Job Description / Overview:
Disney Experiences Technology & Digital is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to help bring immersive digital experiences to Disney’s Parks, Resorts, Cruise Line, and Vacation Club. As part of the team responsible for creating world-class APIs and digital interfaces, you will develop scalable systems that allow external clients to access Disney’s magical products, including resort accommodations, park tickets, and dining experiences. This role involves hands-on development, technical guidance, and collaboration across multiple teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain component-level software solutions using new and existing technologies
Create and review technical specifications and designs for projects and software components
Provide technical direction and mentorship to team members, including vendors and offshore teams
Collaborate with business teams, quality engineers, and project managers on implementation
Participate in agile development processes and adhere to software engineering best practices
Manage release configurations and service management using tools like Jenkins, Rundeck, and AppDynamics
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of software development experience with hands-on technical leadership
Strong experience in agile practices (e.g., SCRUM) and writing technical documentation
Experience:
Proficient in Java, AWS (Lambda, SQS, S3, API Gateway, CloudWatch), SOAP & REST Web Services, and JSON
Expertise in software performance optimization, message queues, and SQL databases
Preferred experience in micro-services, RESTful APIs using Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ)
Skills:
Strong skills in web service integration and optimization (e.g., HTTP Protocol, SQL databases)
Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement
