Job Description/Overview
As a Lead Software Engineer with Disney Experiences, you will join the Payments and Accounting Technology team to help build and maintain the systems supporting the company’s expanding Parks Commercial Platforms. This role involves leading a team of skilled engineers, working on complex technical challenges, and ensuring high-quality software solutions. You’ll collaborate closely with business partners, mentor junior engineers, and play a critical role in strategic initiatives within the team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development of frameworks, environments, and tools across various products.
Provide technical direction and influence team performance through mentorship and guidance.
Define project architectures and establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for tracking project effectiveness.
Enhance productivity through automation and innovation.
Work with stakeholders to address technical challenges and oversee high-impact projects.
Collaborate with internal and external teams, conducting code reviews and mentoring developers.
Oversee environmental issue resolution, project scheduling, and updates.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field.
7+ years of experience in scalable software development and/or client-facing web applications.
2-4 years in a leadership role with experience managing engineering teams.
Proficient in Java, JavaScript, AWS (Lambda, DynamoDB), NoSQL databases, and Angular/Node.
Advanced understanding of microservices, RESTful APIs, and cloud infrastructures.
Experience in Agile methodologies, Test-Driven Development, and database applications.
Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments and rapidly evolving business needs.
Skills
Proficiency in software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
Strong skills in problem-solving, mentoring, and team management.
Knowledge of cloud infrastructures, JSON messaging, and data manipulation tools.
