Job Description/Overview:
Tas Connect Logistics, specializing in general and time-sensitive pallet freight across Tasmania and mainland Australia, is seeking an experienced 2IC Forklift Operator for their Bridgewater depot. This role is ideal for a motivated individual with strong skills in forklift operations, time management, and team leadership, ready to support the growing needs of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Load and unload general and express freight from PUD trucks and linehaul trailers
Manage the staging and scanning of freight to ensure proper trailer and truck loading
Ensure accurate and efficient load restraint using straps and ratchets
Maintain trailer departure schedules in a fast-paced environment
Supervise and manage a small team
Qualifications:
Valid forklift license (essential)
Previous experience in a similar role, including people management
Experience:
Experience managing a small team in a logistics or freight environment
Proficiency with load restraint and managing fast-paced operations
Skills:
Excellent time management
Ability to follow post code sheets for correct freight staging
Safety-first mindset, with reliability and teamwork orientation
