Job Description/Overview:

 

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) seeks a dedicated Nursing Assistant to join the Infant Feeding Team. This role involves supporting parents in infant feeding, offering both in-person and virtual support to families across Manchester. Working closely with Health Visitors, Midwives, and other community members, you’ll deliver research-based infant feeding guidance, ensuring families receive optimal support aligned with UNICEF’s Baby Friendly Initiative.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Provide infant feeding support through home visits, clinic sessions, and virtual platforms.

 

Work citywide as part of the Infant Feeding Team to assist families in early postnatal feeding challenges.

 

Collaborate with Health Visiting and Infant Feeding teams to address urgent and complex feeding needs.

 

Maintain effective communication with families, delivering one-on-one and group support in varied settings.

 

Qualifications:

 

High standard of education with good written and verbal English skills.

 

Basic IT skills for electronic record entry.

 

Experience:

 

Essential: Experience in working with individuals or groups and managing challenging situations.

 

Desirable: Community setting experience and familiarity with infant feeding challenges.

 

Skills:

 

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Ability to manage personal diary and work autonomously to set timelines.

 

Capable of supporting families during stressful situations with sensitivity and empathy.

 

Full driving license and access to a vehicle.
