Secondary Education Content Writer & Editor (Conduit Team – Scotland)

Salary: £23,000 per year (Pro-rata / FTE), equivalent to £11.79 per hour

With resources spanning Early Learning, Primary, and now Secondary education, we support educators in meeting the needs of every child. Our Scottish Secondary brand, Conduit, launched in August 2022, focuses on bridging the gap between the Broad General Education (BGE) and Senior Phase. As our Conduit team continues to expand, we are looking for passionate subject matter experts to write and edit content for Scottish Secondary teachers and students.

The Role:

As a Content Writer & Editor for the Conduit team, you will be responsible for creating and editing BGE and Senior Phase resources in your chosen subject area. You will collaborate with other Twinkl writers and editors to develop ideas, write new content, and ensure the highest quality of educational resources for the Scottish market.

We are looking for writers and editors for the following secondary subjects:

  • Maths
  • Science
  • Business Education

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Conduit Product Owner, Secondary Segment Manager, and other writers/editors to generate new ideas.
  • Write and edit CfE content for the Scottish Secondary market.
  • Identify and develop new project ideas within your subject and the wider Conduit team.
  • Edit content across different subjects as needed.

What You’ll Learn:

  • How to create and edit teacher content from the ideation stage to publication.
  • Remote collaboration, working with a national team of writers and editors.
  • Commercial awareness, understanding the needs of the Scottish education sector.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years recent secondary teaching experience in your subject area (BGE and Senior Phase).
    • Knowledge of the Curriculum for Excellence in your subject.
  • PGDE, BEd, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Access to a fast and reliable internet connection.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to create resources that meet the needs of Scottish teachers and support staff.
