Job Description/Overview:
Planned Parenthood of Southwestern Oregon (PPSO) has been dedicated to providing expert reproductive health care and sexuality education in Southwestern Oregon for over 55 years. With more than 30,000 patient visits each year, PPSO is recognized as the region’s most respected provider of medically accurate sexuality education and essential health services, including screenings, exams, birth control, abortion care, and STI prevention.
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Health Center Manager, the Health Care Assistant (HCA) will work as a member of a team to ensure compliance and efficiency in the day-to-day operations of the reproductive health centre and facilitate high-quality, inclusive patient care.
Essential Duties:
Maintain patient medical records, ensuring compliance with accepted medical standards.
Obtain and record accurate vital signs and medical histories from patients.
Dispense medications and contraceptives under the supervision of a registered nurse or clinician.
Administer tests required for patient services, including UCG, HIV, and HCG.
Provide non-judgmental information to promote access to reproductive services.
Schedule return appointments and follow up on lab results.
Prepare lab samples and maintain lab equipment, adhering to quality control measures.
Perform routine clinic maintenance for a safe and sanitary environment.
Attend special meetings and assist with new hire training as necessary.
Stay updated with policies and procedures to ensure compliance with government regulations.

Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma.
Demonstrated experience following policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
At least 1-year customer service experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; bilingual is a plus.
Previous experience in an office and/or medical setting.
Familiarity with HIPAA compliance.
Basic computer operation skills.

Salary: $18.36 – $26.74 per hour (Employer estimate)
