Job Description/Overview:
Finning Canada is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic to join their team in Sechelt. This role involves field troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of Caterpillar equipment. The successful candidate should be safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and possess Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair Caterpillar equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance services and field diagnostics.
- Complete technical documentation and interact with customers and the Finning team.
- Use Caterpillar SIS and ET for daily operations.
- Maintain a clean and efficient work environment.
Qualifications needed:
- Interprovincial Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification.
- Valid driver’s license with a recent driver’s abstract.
- 5+ years of off-road mechanical experience is considered an asset.
- Previous experience with Caterpillar products is beneficial.
- Ability to wear a respirator and pass fit testing.
Experience:
– 5+ years of relevant off-road mechanical experience.
– Experience with Caterpillar mining and general line products is an asset.
Skills:
– Safety-conscious, excellent organizational and communication skills.
– Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
– High attention to detail and proficiency with Caterpillar SIS and ET.
