Job Description/Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced High Voltage Electrical Commissioning and Testing Technician/Electrician to join our team. Reporting to the Commissioning Engineer, the successful candidate will be responsible for testing, commissioning, and maintaining plant/substation equipment, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct testing, commissioning, and maintenance of plant/substation equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions using wiring diagrams and testing devices.
- Support Project Manager in preparing commissioning plans and managing project timelines.
- Provide guidance and supervision to junior technicians in installation and maintenance tasks.
- Conduct fault finding for SCADA systems and ensure adherence to communication protocols.
- Manage safety procedures, quality control measures, and risk assessments for assigned projects.
Qualifications needed
- Proven work experience and qualification in high voltage (above 33kV) protection systems.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in switch yards after completing training and obtaining a BTech.
- Diploma in electrical engineering and BTech qualification.
- Familiarity with necessary equipment, industry codes, and government regulations.
- Strong business, time management, and report writing skills.
- Fluent written and verbal English skills, along with good telephone communication skills.
- Adherence to health and safety practices and continuous skills updating.
- Valid driver’s license and experience driving appropriate vehicles in all road and weather conditions.
- Excellent computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office suite and SCADA systems.
