Job Description/Overview:

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct archaeological surveys using appropriate techniques: mechanical and manual excavation, monitoring mechanical diggers
- Uncover remains, describe, and document structures and archaeological artifacts
- Take photographs, collect samples, and supervise excavation workers
- Perform topographical surveys of remains and trenches
- Process and store archaeological artifacts
- Conduct inventories, analyze, and develop data
- Write the final operation report (RFO) and ensure administrative follow-up with INRA
- Assist the service manager in project management, including preparation, execution, and delivery of archaeological operations
- Collaborate with INRA, clients, and partner companies
- Manage the administrative aspects of projects: inform and advise clients, review INRA specifications, prepare submissions and service offers
- Plan projects and monitor their progress digitally
- Review scientific and technical specifications (CCST)
- Write the Scientific Intervention Project (PSI)
- Organize interventions technically, logically, and scientifically.
Qualifications needed
- Higher degree in archaeology (Bachelor’s or Master’s). Archaeological knowledge covering periods from Prehistory to the present day
- A valid driving license B is mandatory.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in preventive archaeology. Experience as an operations manager is a plus
- Mastery of excavation techniques (mechanical and manual), description, and documentation of structures and archaeological artifacts
Skills:
- Photography and sampling, supervising excavation workers
- Use of topographical equipment and terrain survey techniques (photogrammetry, terrestrial and aerial image capture) are assets
- Good knowledge of office tools and familiarity with industry software (CAD, DTP, GIS, SBDB, AutoCAD)
- Ability to quickly analyze and synthesize information
- Rigor, organization, dynamism, flexibility, and a taste for teamwork
- Excellent writing skills in French and ideally in German
