Curtain Sewing Machinist

K Design Studio is a family-run business specializing in custom-made curtains and roman blinds. We are expanding our team and need an amazing person to support our workroom to help us keep growing. Our large building in Te Rapa, Hamilton, houses our workroom team of five, along with a Curtain & Blind consult space and a soon-to-be homeware store. This job has the potential to vary between roles depending on the applicant.
Key Responsibilities:
– Custom make curtains and roman blinds to client specifications.
– Operate a variety of industrial sewing machines, such as plain stitch, blind stitch, and overlockers.
– Ensure outstanding attention to detail and quality in all work.
– Maintain a tidy and organized work area.
– Collaborate with the workroom team to meet production deadlines.
– Potentially assist in the Curtain & Blind consult space and homeware store.
Qualifications Needed:
– Proven experience as a Sewing Machinist, preferably in curtain making.
– Ability to operate industrial sewing machines confidently.
– Self-motivated and trustworthy.
– Excellent attention to detail.
– Friendly and approachable attitude.
Experience:
– Minimum of [insert number] years of experience as a Sewing Machinist.
Skills:
– Proficiency in operating plain stitch, blind stitch, and overlock sewing machines.
– Strong organizational and time management skills.
