Job Description/Overview:
Hypixel Studios is looking for a Senior Software Engineer for the Developer Experience team. In this role, you will focus on improving developer workflows, code quality, and build reliability. You will work closely with game developers across various disciplines to streamline processes, optimise builds, and enhance developer empowerment. This is a great opportunity to work on Hytale, a game that empowers players through creative expression in a sandbox adventure, social play, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
– Collaborate with developers from different disciplines (Engineering, Design, Audio, Animation, UX, Art) to streamline workflows and troubleshoot issues.
– Own and improve systems such as automated IDE configuration, Slack automation, local build optimization, and digital content creation pipelines.
– Work with the CI/CD team to ensure development solutions are effective across all environments.
Qualifications:
– 5+ years of professional software development experience.
– 3+ years of experience improving software development workflows.
– Proficiency with version control tools such as Git or Perforce.
– Strong programming fundamentals and adaptability to various languages and environments.
Experience:
– Experience with distributed, incremental build systems like FastBuild or Bazel.
– Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, TeamCity, CircleCI, and related build systems.
– Experience with C++ ecosystem tools like AddressSanitizer, MTuner, Clang-Tidy, and Visual Studio.
– Knowledge of quality tools such as linters, static analyzers, fuzz testing, and memory analysis tools is a plus.
