Job Description/Overview:
The Procurement & Logistics Specialist will oversee and support a team of procurement professionals to ensure effective Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) throughout the procurement process. The role involves sourcing, evaluating, and negotiating for complex and high-value commodities and services to achieve value for money, following best practice procurement and logistics techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
– Monitor suppliers’ compliance with contract terms and conditions, manage contract libraries, and ensure consistent record retention.
– Support the Manager Procurement and Logistics in implementing strategies to deliver the lowest total cost of ownership.
– Supervise the sourcing, pre-qualifying, and evaluation of suppliers to assess the most appropriate commodities and services.
– Authorise supply orders and contracts up to AED 10,000 and prepare reports for higher value contracts.
– Develop tender documents, facilitate cross-functional teams, and issue tenders for competitive quotations.
– Lead complex negotiations to ensure the best contractual and commercial position for the company.
– Mitigate unnecessary commercial risks in procurement activities and supply base.
– Implement CRM/SRM programs across multiple commodity/service groups.
– Generate and review activity and performance reports to ensure efficient functioning of the procurement section.
Qualifications:
– Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent), preferably in Logistics.
– Master’s degree preferred.
– Recommended International Qualifications: MCIPS, CIPS, CPP, CSMP, CPSM, IPSCMI, etc.
Experience:
– 3+ years in procurement, non-aircraft related.
– Experience in transport logistics and courier services.
Skills:
– Expertise in supervising major capital acquisitions and service contract tenders.
– Strong supplier sourcing, evaluation, influencing, and negotiation skills.
