Job Description/Overview
M & P Plumbing & Heating Ltd. is seeking an experienced Plumber to join their team in Surrey, BC. This role requires a strong understanding of plumbing systems and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment. The position contributes to green initiatives, supporting Canada’s net-zero environmental goals.
Key Responsibilities
– Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems.
– Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors.
– Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and fittings.
– Install pipes using various methods, including couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, soldering, brazing, and welding equipment.
– Schedule personnel, tools, and equipment for efficient project completion.
– Test plumbing systems for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
– Estimate the costs and materials needed for projects.
– Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required shapes and sizes.
Qualifications
– Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
– 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience.
Experience
2 years to less than 3 years in plumbing.
Skills
– Ability to work on-site with no remote options available.
– Strong technical skills in plumbing installation and repair.
– Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
– Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
