About the Role
Tetra Tech is seeking a Adaptation Specialist for the USAID-funded Climate Adaptation Support Activity (CASA). This role will support adaptation mainstreaming, programming, and scaling across diverse USAID Missions, Washington offices, and partners. As an Adaptation Specialist, you will contribute to technical deliverables, provide operational support, and assist in managing USAID counterparts and stakeholders. This position is fully remote within the US or hybrid for candidates near our Winooski, VT, or Arlington, VA offices.
This long-term role runs through September 2027 and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the field of climate adaptation and resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical and operational support to USAID workstreams, ensuring high-quality, impactful services.
- Assist in managing USAID counterparts, including facilitating meetings, documenting feedback, and supporting program management.
- Develop and edit technical deliverables such as briefing notes, policy documents, and climate risk management reviews.
- Participate in project-wide planning, including strategic planning and adaptation framework development.
- Manage consultants and subcontractors for technical activities.
- Represent CASA at workshops, conferences, and events.
- Coordinate post-deployment evaluations and technical deliverable quality assurance.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in climate science, environmental studies, natural resources management, international development, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 1+ years in climate change adaptation or resilience.
- Experience working with international organizations, donors, or federal/domestic entities on climate adaptation programs.
- Experience managing clients, consultants, or subcontractors.
- Experience in writing and editing technically driven reports and deliverables.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of climate adaptation policy, planning, and program implementation.
- Ability to draft and deliver high-quality technical reports.
- Professional proficiency in English (Spanish or French preferred).
- Ability to travel internationally.
- U.S. work authorization at the time of application.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with USAID and USAID-funded programs.
- Familiarity with U.S. Government and international humanitarian sectors.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary Range: $50,000 – $70,000 annually.
