About the Role
ICF seeks a Food Security Survey Data Analyst to support the USAID-funded Surveys for Monitoring in Resilience and Food Security (SMRFS) project. This full-time, hybrid position involves analyzing population-based survey data collected globally to monitor and improve food security outcomes.
Join our dynamic team to help shape food security policy and programming while building capacity for data analysis and use in low- and middle-income countries.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis: Conduct statistical analyses of large population-based survey datasets using tools such as Stata and R. Apply sample weights, perform multivariate analyses, and conduct in-depth secondary data analysis.
- Review and Reporting: Validate analysis by team members, interpret results, and draft comprehensive survey reports.
- Capacity Building: Train and mentor in-country partners, including USAID staff, implementing partners, and local stakeholders, to strengthen their data analysis capabilities.
- Research: Perform literature reviews and contribute to research on global food security trends.
- Communication: Present findings to diverse audiences, both in writing and orally, including technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Assist other project members in non-data analysis activities and contribute to the development of guidance materials for Feed the Future initiatives.
- Travel: Travel up to 15% of the time to low- and middle-income countries for on-site capacity-building activities and collaborations.
About You
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in development economics, statistics, epidemiology, public policy, demography, or a related field.
- 1+ years of experience in:
- Statistical analysis, including multivariate methods.
- Managing large population-based survey datasets.
- Working with data collected for international development projects.
- Applying sample weights to datasets.
- USAID-funded studies and food security data analysis.
- Using Stata and R for data analysis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience presenting findings to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in French, Spanish, or Portuguese.
- Experience using SAS, SPSS, or GIS tools.
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
