Job Description/Overview:
This unique and deeply rewarding role involves providing exceptional care and emotional support to a child in need of palliative care. The Healthcare Assistant will focus on creating a nurturing environment where the child feels secure, loved, and supported during challenging times.
Key Responsibilities:
Engage in interactive care, including play, storytime, and activities fostering emotional and cognitive development.
Offer emotional comfort through reassurance, cuddles, and support during distressing moments.
Provide compassionate care during the child’s final stages of life, ensuring comfort and support for both the child and their family.
Build a trusting and positive relationship with the child and their family, respecting their needs with kindness, respect, and compassion.
Qualifications:
Compassionate, patient, and empathetic personality.
Understanding of palliative and emotional care principles.
Experience:
Previous experience in palliative care or working with children requiring additional care is desirable.
Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to provide both physical and emotional care in sensitive circumstances.
