Job Description/Overview:
Avery Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest providers of luxury elderly care homes, is seeking a Sous Chef to join their team. The role offers the opportunity to support the Head Chef in delivering a high-quality, nutritionally balanced culinary service for residents, while working in a supportive and inspiring environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Head Chef in leading the culinary team.
Prepare modified diets for residents and ensure nutritional balance.
Supervise and direct culinary staff.
Ensure food preparation meets the highest hygiene standards.
Support the team in understanding and applying the Avery Food Safety Management System.
Qualifications:
Culinary qualifications or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of food safety standards and dietary requirements for elderly care settings.
Experience:
Previous experience as a Sous Chef or senior culinary role.
Experience in a healthcare or elderly care environment is preferred.
Skills:
Strong leadership skills and ability to work in a dynamic environment.
Attention to detail in food preparation and hygiene standards.
Knowledge of food safety management systems.
