Job Description/Overview

 

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly enthusiastic Domestic Assistant to join the Endoscopy Department at Hexham General Hospital. The role involves maintaining cleanliness to the highest standards using approved methods and specialized equipment.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Maintain cleanliness in Endoscopy and surrounding areas.

 

Clean floor areas using vacuuming, mopping, buffing, and spray-cleaning techniques.

 

Undertake deep cleans in areas with infection risks.

 

Clean sanitary areas, staff changing rooms, and internal glass.

 

Remove domestic and clinical waste to disposal points.

 

Carry out scheduled cleaning of chairs, walls (up to shoulder height), and fittings.

 

Handle urgent spot cleaning and spillages.

 

Report any faults or problems to the manager/supervisor.

 

Participate in training related to fire drills, hygiene, and health & safety regulations.

 

Qualifications

 

Essential:

 

Basic COSHH and Health & Safety training (to be completed within 6 months of start).

 

Basic numerate and literate skills.

 

Previous domestic experience.

 

Desirable:

 

NVQ Level 1 or 2 or equivalent.

 

GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).

 

Experience and Knowledge

 

Desirable:

 

Customer Service training.

 

Hours

 

Part-time (30 hours per week) with flexible working opportunities.

 

Salary

 

£23,615 per annum (on rota basis).
