Job Description/Overview:
This position involves providing personal assistance and routine daily care to enhance residents’ independence and quality of life. The caregiver will assist residents with daily living activities, administer medications, ensure safety, and maintain a clean and comfortable environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with activities of daily living, including medication administration.
Provide safe transfers, positioning, and turning of clients.
Support culinary services when needed.
Respond effectively to residents’ behavior and use supportive communication.
Maintain a safe environment and recognize safety hazards.
Follow infection control principles and proper handwashing techniques.
Assist residents with toileting and elimination needs.
Monitor and report changes in residents’ physical or emotional conditions.
Foster open communication between healthcare professionals, residents, families, and staff.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum one year of caregiving experience.
Certifications:
Current Tuberculosis test or chest X-ray.
CPR and First Aid certification.
Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to follow safety guidelines and universal precautions.
Basic computer skills for documentation.
Salary:
$33K–$42K annually (estimated base pay range).
Experience:
At least one year of prior caregiving experience.
