Job Description/Overview:
Aviagen Australia Pty Ltd seeks two full-time Assistant Farm Managers for its poultry farms in Wellington, NSW. The role supports day-to-day farm operations, production goals, and team management while stepping up in the Farm Manager’s absence.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage stock, including feed ordering and vaccination programs.
Lead, recruit, and train farm staff while managing performance.
Conduct audits focusing on biosecurity, health, and safety.
Coordinate maintenance schedules and ensure facilities remain operational.
Control costs and contribute to budget planning processes.
Promote health and safety compliance.
Prepare and submit farm reports.
Qualifications:
Strong poultry knowledge and leadership skills.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in poultry production operations.
Understanding of Animal Welfare codes and animal husbandry practices.
Experience:
Experience in rearing and production operations.
Ability to step into a second-in-command (2IC) role.
Skills:
Planning and organisational abilities.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and reporting skills.
Team leadership and development capabilities.
Hands-on approach to maintaining high standards.
