Job Overview
As a Hannaford To Go Shopper, you will represent the customer by providing an exceptional shopping experience. You’ll carefully select items from online shopping lists, ensure the quality and accuracy of orders, and deliver an experience comparable to what customers would receive shopping in person.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and provide courteous service.
- Accurately match items from customers’ online shopping lists.
- Shop multiple customer orders simultaneously using designated tools.
- Make substitution decisions if requested by customers.
- Assist customers with order pick-ups at designated locations.
- Handle, bag, and package merchandise according to company guidelines.
- Label and store items in designated areas for customer pick-up.
- Ensure prompt and proper handling of return-to-stock items, particularly perishables.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Assist with transporting and loading orders into customer vehicles as needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
- Must meet minimum age requirements for specific job functions.
- Willingness to learn and perform multiple tasks.
- Ability to recognize and differentiate between various types of produce and other merchandise.
- Previous experience in retail or customer service is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Perform repetitive motions and stand/walk for most of the shift.
- Lift products weighing up to 15 lbs. continuously, 25 lbs. frequently, and 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Push/pull up to 75 lbs. as needed.
- Work in and out of inclement weather when necessary.
- Gather and push multiple shopping carts to designated areas.
- Handle various substances, including cleaning products, fresh produce, shellfish, and plants/flowers.
- Sufficient visual acuity to read shopping devices and documents.
