Job Description/Overview:
Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking motivated individuals to join the housekeeping team at Horton General Hospital, Banbury. As a Housekeeper, you will ensure a high standard of cleanliness throughout the hospital and support nursing staff with delivering patient meals and beverages. Your contribution will directly impact the patient experience and maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform cleaning tasks in line with National Specifications for Cleanliness in the NHS.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Support ward staff during protected patient mealtimes by delivering food and beverages.
Work independently or as part of a team to meet cleanliness targets.
Qualifications:
Essential:
Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
Ability to read and understand written instructions.
Effective verbal and written communication in English.
Physical ability to perform housekeeping duties.
Desirable:
Basic food hygiene qualification.
NVQ or equivalent in cleaning and support services.
Experience:
Essential:
Confidence in identifying and resolving workplace hazards.
Desirable:
Previous experience in a housekeeping or domestic role.
Experience in a healthcare environment.
Skills:
Presentable and approachable demeanor.
Flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances.
Strong initiative and ability to work independently.
Resilience and calmness under pressure.
Logical problem-solving and conflict resolution.

Additional Information:
Salary: £23,615 per annum pro rata.
Hours: Part-time, 20 hours per week.
Probation Period: 6 months.
COVID-19: Vaccination is encouraged but not mandatory.
