Job Description/Overview

 

This is an exciting opportunity to work with two specialist teams in the Children’s Hospital, Oxford: the Spires Cleft Centre and the Oxford Craniofacial Unit. These teams provide multidisciplinary care for children and young people with cleft lip, palate, and craniofacial conditions from birth into adulthood.

 

The Clinical Support Assistant will support the Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) team, contribute to clinic organization, assist in delivering interventions, and manage administrative tasks.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Organize appointments and prepare for clinics.

 

Assist with clinical audits and data entry.

 

Maintain and manage therapy equipment and resources.

 

Provide support in SLT and multidisciplinary clinics.

 

Assist clinicians with therapeutic interventions and assessments.

 

Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the team.

 

Contribute to the organization of local/national training events.

 

Update patient information leaflets and the service website.

 

Qualifications

 

5 GCSEs or NVQ Level 3 equivalent.

 

IT literate, proficient in Microsoft Office.

 

Strong organizational and communication skills.

 

Experience

 

Essential:

 

Experience working in healthcare or education settings.

 

Experience working as part of a team.

 

Desirable:

 

Experience working with individuals with complex needs or learning disabilities.

 

Skills

 

Effective time management and prioritization.

 

Ability to work autonomously and follow through on tasks.

Additional Information

 

Contract Type: Permanent

 

Hours: Part-time (22.5 hours per week)

 

Salary: £24,071 – £25,674 per annum (pro-rata)
