Position Overview
The Volunteer Content Writer will play a crucial role in shaping the foundation’s narrative by crafting engaging, accurate, and informative content. As part of a collaborative team, you will help raise awareness about pet cancer by writing content that educates and informs our audience. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to make a meaningful impact through writing, while contributing to the mission of improving the lives of pets affected by cancer.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Write Content: Create engaging content based on assignments from team leaders.
- Conduct Research: Perform in-depth research on relevant topics to ensure accuracy and factual correctness.
- Adhere to Style Guide: Follow the organization’s style guide to maintain consistent voice and tone across all content.
- Understand the Audience: Tailor content to resonate with target readers, ensuring relevance and impact.
- Meet Deadlines: Work within the PCF editorial calendar, managing deadlines for drafts and revisions.
- Collaborate with Team: Incorporate feedback from editors and leaders to improve content quality.
About You
You are an energetic and organized individual with a passion for writing and making a difference. You have:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Journalism, Communications, or a related field).
- Experience: 2-3 years of relevant writing experience, ideally in a professional setting.
- Writing Skills: Exceptional writing and grammar skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Portfolio: A portfolio of work to showcase your writing ability.
- Time Management: The ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to occasional additional hours as needed.
