Job Description/Overview:

Hayes Farms is seeking a dedicated and reliable Dairy Farm Hand to join our team. The successful candidate will assist in the daily operations of the dairy farm, focusing on the care and well-being of the herd while supporting smooth farm operations. Training will be provided, making this a great opportunity for individuals passionate about farming and animal care.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Perform milking duties according to the farm’s schedule while maintaining cleanliness and safety.

 

Assist with livestock care, monitoring health, and reporting any concerns.

 

Clean and maintain farm equipment and facilities, including yards and dairy sheds.

 

Manage waste disposal in compliance with farm protocols and environmental guidelines.

 

Support herd management, including breeding, calving, and general care.

 

Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety on the farm for animals and staff.

 

Participate in additional farm tasks such as haymaking and pasture management.

 

Qualifications:

 

Previous farm work or animal husbandry experience is an advantage but not required.

 

Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

 

Physical stamina and resilience to work in various weather conditions.

 

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.

 

Effective communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.

 

Genuine interest in animal welfare and sustainable farming.

 

Experience:

 

Experience in farm work is beneficial but not mandatory.

 

Skills:

 

Ability to work as part of a team and independently.

 

A proactive approach to animal care and farm duties.
