Overview
Church Initiative, a leading ministry with national and international visibility, is seeking a Contract Content Editor to join our team. This role involves working closely with publishing, customer success, and marketing teams to develop and refine impactful content for our marketing, digital, and print materials. If you’re a skilled editor and writer with theological knowledge and a heart for ministry, we’d love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Edit and provide editorial direction for a variety of materials, including:
- Marketing assets
- Web copy
- Video scripts
- Emails
- Ebooks, articles, and curriculum materials
- Ensure content aligns with organizational objectives and advise writers on how to achieve these goals.
- Collaborate with writing, design, and leadership teams to create compelling, engaging content.
- Generate and rewrite content as needed to meet organizational standards.
- Utilize data-driven insights and audience knowledge to craft marketing copy that enhances brand awareness, drives engagement, and inspires action.
- Maintain brand quality and consistency across all communication channels.
- Report directly to the Editorial Director and either the Vice President of Marketing or Vice President of Customer Success.
Requirements
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, marketing, or communications.
- 5+ years of experience in editing and writing for marketing and publications.
- A portfolio showcasing successful marketing writing.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong theological knowledge and understanding of Christian audiences, including pastors and lay leaders.
- Empathetic writing style to connect with individuals facing life crises such as bereavement and divorce.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace.
- Familiarity with the Chicago Manual of Style (minimum 2+ years).
- Exceptional attention to detail and a meticulous approach to work.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
- Spiritual Qualifications:
- A professed relationship with Jesus Christ and a consistent, deep personal walk with the Lord.
- A demonstrated heart for ministry through the local church.
- Spiritual maturity and alignment with the qualities described in Galatians 5:22–26.
