The Role:
Twinkl is looking for a dedicated Content Writer to contribute to their PlanIt Maths product for New Zealand primary school students, specifically Year 4-6. You will be responsible for creating and adapting resources aligned with the New Zealand maths curriculum, both old and refreshed, helping teachers teach with confidence.

This role offers flexibility to work from home with 20 hours of work per week, allowing you to balance other commitments. You’ll collaborate with a passionate team to develop engaging, accurate, and well-structured learning materials, including PowerPoints, activity sheets, assessments, lesson plans, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop new PlanIt Maths resources, and adapt existing ones, for Year 4-6 students.
  • Ensure resources are accurate, aligned with the New Zealand curriculum, and suitable for the target year group.
  • Collaborate with other writers, editors, designers, and illustrators to create top-quality resources.
  • Respond to and implement feedback from Content Editors.
  • Participate in weekly meetings and contribute to the team’s progress and discussions.
  • Attend training and work closely with your buddy and manager to integrate into the team.

Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent spelling, punctuation, and grammar skills.
  • Experience using MS Office (Word, PowerPoint) or Google Suite (Docs, Slides).
  • At least 3 years of classroom experience (must have taught or worked in the classroom within the last 12 months).
  • Deep knowledge of the New Zealand maths curriculum (particularly Levels 1-3).
  • Ability to collaborate in a remote, dynamic environment and handle feedback.
  • A qualification in teaching is preferred (Bachelor of Education, Graduate Diploma of Teaching, or Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning).
