Job Description/Overview
Join Julia’s House Dorset/Wiltshire Children’s Hospices as a Social Worker, where every moment counts and every memory matters. This role involves managing the Social Work provision for children, young people, and families supported by Julia’s House. You will plan, establish, and develop social support services in collaboration with the Family Support Services Lead and Strategic Nursing Team. The role includes safeguarding responsibilities, providing guidance on the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, and delivering high-quality social work support to patients and families with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the Social Work provision for children and families supported by Julia’s House.
Develop and expand existing social support services in partnership with the Family Support Services Lead.
Lead safeguarding efforts, providing advice on MCA and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
Maintain and update safeguarding and MCA policies in line with national guidelines.
Manage a caseload of patients and families with significant social, practical, and emotional needs.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications and experience in social work.
Strong knowledge of safeguarding, MCA, and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
Experience
Proven experience delivering responsive, high-quality social work services.
Experience working with families facing complex needs.
Skills
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to manage sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.

Additional Information
Salary: £33,338 per year.
