Job Description/Overview

 

St. Catherine’s Association, a non-profit organization and registered charity funded by the HSE, provides essential health-related supports to children and young adults with moderate to profound intellectual disabilities and autism in the Wicklow area. Our services include Respite, Short Break Support Services, Residential Services, Day Services, and access to clinical supports through referrals to the Children’s Disability Network Team.

 

We are currently seeking Social Care Workers who are dynamic, compassionate, and team-oriented, passionate about working with children and young people with intellectual disabilities.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Foster a high-quality, supportive environment for individuals in care.

 

Promote participation in daily activities and community integration.

 

Assist individuals with skill development and personal tasks.

 

Administer medication and address healthcare needs.

 

Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation.

 

Qualifications

 

Essential

 

Graduate or pursuing QQI Level 7 BA in Applied Social Studies, Social Care, or equivalent.

 

Strong interest in supporting individuals with Intellectual Disabilities and Autism.

 

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

 

Flexibility for shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

 

Knowledge of HIQA regulations for residential and respite services.

 

Full driving license and willingness to drive company vehicles.

 

Desirable

 

Experience supporting individuals with behaviors that challenge.

 

Experience

 

Relevant experience in Social Care is advantageous but not required.
