About Outlier: Outlier partners with some of the world’s most innovative companies to improve their AI models by providing high-quality human feedback. We are looking for talented writers with strong English skills to help train generative AI models through this exciting freelance opportunity.
Position Overview: As a Content Editor, you will review and edit AI-generated text remotely. This flexible, part-time, and reading/writing-intensive role allows you to contribute your expertise to enhance the performance of cutting-edge AI systems while working on your own schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Read and rank English text responses generated by AI models.
- Write and rewrite prompts and responses, which may include research and fact-checking.
- Assess the factuality, relevance, and quality of AI-generated content.
- Provide feedback to improve the AI model’s output.
Qualifications:
- Experience as a professional writer or editor.
- Enrolled in or completed a bachelor’s degree or higher in a writing-related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Strong writing skills, including excellent spelling, grammar, and reasoning abilities.
- Attention to detail with the ability to explain the strengths and weaknesses of text.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Payment:
- Canada: $20–$48 CAD per hour
- US: $15–$35 USD per hour
- UK: Up to £11–£27 GBP per hour
- Australia: Up to $22–$53 AUD per hour
- New Zealand: Up to $25–$58 NZD per hour
Rates vary depending on expertise, location, project needs, and skills assessment. Higher rates may be available for specialized qualifications (e.g., PhDs), and some projects may offer incentive payments.

- This is a 1099 freelance contract opportunity through the Outlier.ai platform. We do not offer internships, sponsorships, or employment.
- You must be authorized to work in your country of residence. International students may be eligible to join if on a visa (consult with your tax/immigration advisor).
