Job Description/Overview
The Peripatetic Ward Clerk role involves providing essential administrative and reception support for inpatient services, including wards, Same Day Emergency Care, and Early Pregnancy receptions. The position requires flexibility, independence, and excellent customer care skills to support a range of services.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the first point of contact for patients, relatives, and staff at ward receptions.
Update and maintain the Trust’s Electronic Patient Record (Lorenzo EPR) accurately and in real time.
Ensure patient case notes are available and well-maintained throughout admissions.
Provide administrative support across inpatient services.
Qualifications
Essential:
GCSE English or equivalent.
Proficiency in keyboard skills.
Desirable:
Familiarity with hospital systems.
Experience
Essential:
Experience in public-facing/reception duties.
Experience in word processing and databases.
Desirable:
Previous experience in a hospital setting.
Skills
Strong communication and organizational skills.
High attention to detail and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in IT systems and understanding of confidentiality.

Flexible shifts between 7:00 am and 9:00 pm across a 7-day week, including weekends and bank holidays.
