Job Description/Overview
The Peripatetic Ward Clerk supports inpatient services by providing comprehensive ward reception and administration services. This role involves updating patient records, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring smooth coordination within the wards, A&E, and patient reception areas. Working hours are flexible, covering shifts between 08:00 AM and 08:00 PM, Monday to Sunday.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the first point of contact for patients, relatives, and staff.
Update the Trust Electronic Patient Record (Lorenzo EPR) in real-time.
Ensure patient case notes are available and well-maintained throughout admissions.
Assist with general and specialist administration in wards and reception areas.
Maintain accuracy and attention to detail in all documentation.
Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide an excellent patient experience.
Qualifications
GCSE A-C in English or equivalent.
Proficiency in keyboard and IT systems.
Experience
Essential:
Direct public engagement or reception duties.
Experience with word processing and databases.
Desirable:
Experience in a hospital setting.
Skills
Essential:
Strong communication and organizational abilities.
Independent and team-oriented work style.
Attention to detail and confidentiality.
Desirable:
Knowledge of hospital systems.

Additional Information
Hours: 24 hours per week on a shift pattern (08:00 AM – 08:00 PM, Monday to Sunday).
Salary: £23,615 pro rata per annum.
Contract: Permanent.
