Job Description/Overview:

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB), North Wales’ largest healthcare organization, is seeking a Healthcare Support Worker for its interim short-stay arthroplasty unit on Ward 6 at Abergele Hospital. This role involves supporting patients post-operatively, assisting with hygiene, meals, and maintaining a safe environment. The position will relocate to the Llandudno elective orthopaedic hub in the coming year, which will focus on high-volume, low-capacity orthopaedic procedures.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Provide high-standard care and assist with daily routines.

 

Monitor post-operative observations and work with registered nurses.

 

Support patients with meals, hygiene assistance, and maintaining a clean environment.

 

Collaborate with team members to deliver safe, person-centered care.

 

Qualifications:

 

Orthopaedic experience is essential.

 

Desirable: NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.

 

Experience:

 

Required: Experience in healthcare settings.

 

Desirable: Previous experience in an orthopaedic setting.

 

Skills:

 

Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.

 

Welsh language skills are desirable but not essential.
