Position Overview:
We are looking for a Healthcare Financial Management Consultant II to support our clients in rural healthcare settings by managing essential financial reporting and compliance tasks. You will work closely with healthcare providers, particularly Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), Critical Access Hospitals, and Rural Health Clinics, to ensure financial accuracy and compliance. This role includes tasks like ledger reviews, preparing financial reports, and facilitating federal/state reporting requirements, including Medicare/Medicaid cost reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review the general ledger and balance sheet for accuracy, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and prepare the initial draft of monthly reporting packages.
- Prepare work papers and schedules to support month-end financial reporting and the annual financial audit.
- Prepare cost reports and other federal/state reporting requirements for healthcare entities.
- Inform others of costs, quality, schedule, and engagement-related risks.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in a professional services firm or 3+ years in private industry.
- Previous experience in rural healthcare finance, particularly in FQHCs, Critical Access Hospitals, and Rural Health Clinics, is required.
- Strong understanding of cash, accrual, and GAAP-based accounting.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Analytical skills to interpret data and recommend solutions.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to client sites.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary range: $60,000 – $99,000, depending on experience, skills, and location.
- Annual discretionary bonus eligibility based on performance.
