Position Overview:
We are seeking a SALT Manager – Unclaimed Property to help manage our expanding unclaimed property consulting and compliance practice. This role involves overseeing multiple projects, delivering exceptional client service, managing process improvements, and guiding team development. You will lead a portfolio of unclaimed property engagements, working closely with clients to ensure compliance and maximize efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing a growing unclaimed property consulting and compliance practice across multiple locations.
- Oversee multiple unclaimed property projects, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
- Provide exceptional client service to a diverse client portfolio.
- Drive process improvements and identify cost-effective opportunities.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop SALT associates, fostering their growth and success.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with colleagues and clients.
- Conduct research on unclaimed property and tax matters impacting clients.
- Participate in voluntary disclosure programs, exposure quantification, audit defense, and related projects.
- Manage project timelines, client communications, and expectations; train and guide team members on these projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- 5-7+ years of unclaimed property experience, including compliance requirements, voluntary disclosure programs, and consulting.
- 3+ years of experience managing unclaimed property engagements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with state and local tax matters is a plus.
- CPA, CMI, JD, or LLM is beneficial but not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and tax research tools.
- This role can be remote.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary range: $90,000 – $150,000, based on experience, skills, and location.
- Annual discretionary bonus eligibility, based on performance.
