Inside Sales Representative

Job Description/Overview:

 

The Inside Sales Representative (ISR) at WestRock will develop new business and manage existing accounts within the small to medium business segment. Over 12-14 months, the ISR will work to transition into an Outside Sales role. Responsibilities include coordinating orders, resolving account issues, and expanding the customer base. Success will involve remote communication (teleconference, phone, email), and the ISR will use WestRock’s Sales Excellence methodology to identify business opportunities and close deals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Build and maintain customer relationships to identify business growth opportunities.

 

Engage with new and previous customers to win or regain business.

 

Manage complex customer issues such as pricing, delivery, and product design.

 

Collaborate with business unit and plant teams to ensure positive customer experiences.

 

Achieve sales targets, including cross-selling and up-selling.

 

Stay informed on industry trends, competitor information, and WestRock products.

 

Drive customer interactions across divisions and create margin improvement plans.

 

Qualifications:

 

3+ years of B2B inside sales or related experience (fiber-based packaging industry preferred).

 

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

 

Strong communication, negotiation, and customer relationship management skills.

 

Proficient in Salesforce.com or similar CRM software, and Microsoft Office.

 

Ability to manage multiple accounts and close business via phone and video conferences.

 

Comfortable making numerous calls per day, with strong listening and presentation skills.

 

Experience:

 

3+ years of B2B sales experience required (fiber-based packaging experience preferred).

 

Proven track record of success in inside sales.
