Ford Advanced EV is responsible for developing the key technologies and capabilities – such as EV platforms, batteries, e-motors, inverters, charging and recycling – to create breakthrough electric vehicles. Your lines of code will make our future more connected and intelligent. As a Software Engineer, you will develop and optimize tools that support firmware and hardware development. You will write scripts and utilities, primarily in Python, that generate C code, interact with embedded systems, and streamline development processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, test, and maintain tools and scripts for firmware and hardware development.
Write and optimize Python scripts that generate C code and interact with embedded systems.
Collaborate with firmware and hardware engineers to ensure seamless integration of tools with development processes.
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
Troubleshoot and debug tools and scripts in a timely manner.
Document tool designs and development processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
2-5 years as a Firmware Engineer or Software Engineer.
Proficiency in Python and C/C++.
Understanding of embedded systems concepts.
Experience with JIRA/Confluence or a similar system.
Skills:
Strong problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Teamwork-oriented.
Preferred: Version control experience (Git), proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React or Svelte, and knowledge of automotive electronics.
